I'm not generating a single NFS log and I don't know why

I'm assuming NFS logs just show up in /var/log/messages like most BSD systems? I have two hypervisors connecting to NFS export shares. I recently made some changes to my FreeNas volume to add capacity and it's back online no problem. But now neither of the servers can connect to the export. Both of them (VMWare and oVirt) throw errors that they can't connect. So I figured I would trace some logs on the FreeNas side and watch what happens. But nada. I can see the nfs traffic via tcpdump so I know it's coming across the wire. But nothing pertaining to the connection information shows up in any log. That includes grepping the entire /var/log directory for traces of it.

I'm loathe to set anything under the hood directly on my FreeNas system since that has bit me in the ass before. Is there a way through the GUI to set NFS to a debug mode that will generate useful logs?
