nice to see that the conversation didnt stop.
So the server arrived today and to my delight, i can change the SATA config to AHCI - Yay!

in the same menu there is a point where i ask for your help / opinion.
It asks for "Aggressive LPM Support" it came with it enabled and SATA was already on AHCI.

Should i leave it enabled for TrueNAS Core?

Otherwise its in a really good state. Super clean, no damages, everything is showing up in the bios perfectly fine.

PS: Yes @Patrick M. Hausen i'm from germany. And if Hausen is not your last name but the city you live in, we would be very close to each other :-D

Something to note tho, NextCloud with Nginx eats a lot of RAM on High Speeds Network so 32GB will became not enough but all depends on the WAN Connection Speed.

@VioletDragon i "only" have 1GBit/s switches and my router also only can go for 1GBit/s. That is absolutely enough for the things i want to do with that.
As you guys said, these are my first steps and i know myself. In a year or so i will go full in and get myself something overkill. But as of right now, i just want to kill google from my workflow and will do some lightweight file-transfers (mainly documents and photos) in my home-network and i want to access the nextcloud from outside via the internet.

Thats all i want to do for now.

Aggressive LPM Support is Aggressive Link Power Management I would leave it as it is. Yes a 1gbp connection will cause Nginx to Memory Exhaust on Huge Downloads. So make sure that you have plenty of RAM shared Nextcloud. I have 32GB to the NextCloud VM. To access Nextcloud outside the Network there are things you need to understand and learn, DNS you need DNS and a Fully Qualified Domain Name with a Static IP if you do not have a Static IP then you need to use ddclient and it all depends on your Router. If your Router supports DNSsec then you should not have any issues. I highly recommend configuring a Reverse Proxy dont just Port Foward 80/443.

1) I have found some deeper informations about this and decided to turn it off. If i see any issues i will turn it on.

2) I have 16GB RAM physically available, so there is a limitation for that. Also i wont do "huge downloads". My NextCloud will consist of 80% documents 15% pictures / gifs / small animations and 5% zipped windows games that i store there for later retrieval or to access them from another computer in the network. So i dont think that i will have to have that high specs.

3) I have a Domain for my business and in that contract i can activate a second domain for free that i can use in any way i want. So i will use this. Its from a hosting provider where i can point this domain to any target and not only their services. I have no clue on what a reverse proxy is right now but i will learn it! I assume i dont have to use / activate these things right away at install and i can try and get the NextCloud working in my home network first. Accessing it from outside is currently not my highest priority.

So thank you guys very much! I hope i can handle it from here on now with the help of the documentation and searching.
