I can't seem to find out how a pool was made. What I mean is what type of ZFS was used to form it mirrored,ZFS1,2,3 etc.
I can find what drives are in a pool but not how it was formed/configured?

The output of zpool status will show it directly.

Daft question, How do I pause the screen whizzing up with zpool history <pool name> and zpool status goes off the right side of the screen

zpool status |more

or

zpool history <pool name> |more

Or simply just use the Web UI, select 'Storage', select your volume/pool at the very top and then 'Volume Status'

Yep, and unless I'm mistaken (as I'm not very familiar with the new UI) it looks like you have a three-way stripe meaning if you lose one disk you would lose all your data.

Show me the output of zpool status just to be sure.

Thanks JF, I assumed you it would show strip or whatever - this page ?

I'm running FreeNAS as VM on Virtual box to get used to it also the new UI

The general rule of thumb in the ZFS world is if it doesn't say differently its a stripe.

OK JF, I guess it's best to leave notes in the comments. I came back to the VM for 'play' after a few weeks and forgot what I originally setup

If it were a mirror, Z1,Z2 or Z3 it would say.

Ah great, I hadn't realised that. I'll create some more virtual disks and have a play teach my self.

Just looking at my Twitter account and I've been 'playing' with Freenas for over 10 years, you'd of thought I would learnt something
