When I search on Ebay for the M1015 hba card, I typically get LSI 9240-8i or LSI 9220-8i. What is the difference between the 9220 and 9240, and which one should one be buying?

Thanks!

I'd stay away from any of the LSI branded cards on Ebay. There are soooo many fake ones that you just don't know if you're getting a real one or not. Some people have had luck with them and some haven't...I personally wouldn't chance it...there's no reason to when there are other options. I'd get a Dell Perc H310 instead. They are equivalent to the IBM card and can usually be bought for about $40. I don't think I've seen a fake one of those yet. Easy to crossflash them too.

Hey bigphil, thanks for the advice on the Dell Perc H310. If there are no fake ones, this should make my life much more easier!
