Freenas doesn't really support tape drives. I believe mt-st and drivers are there by default, but you have to pass the device through to a jail. I don't think anyone bothered to document the procedure. It's hackish and not something I would do at work. IBM's documentation doesn't list freebsd support. All these facts add up to a 'most likely, no'.
