I am a bit worried I have added a 1TB HD to my FreeNas box and it had 800Gb of Media on it, However it seems to have disappeared and the drive is showing as empty.

Please tell me I've just set it up wrong and not deleted the data. Screen attached.

When your using the volume managers, it says "existing data will be cleared" surely it doesn't mean its going to delete your drive?

Thanks in advance.

I believe FreenNAS has converted this disk to GPT - Does that mean that all my media has gone, can I convert this back to view on a windows machine without data loss???

A look into the manual would have helped you (especially if it warns you in bright red that data is going to be cleared).
The Add Volume button warns that creating a volume will destroys any existing data on the selected disk(s). In other words, creating a new volume reformats the selected disks. If your intent is to not overwrite the data on an existing volume, see if the volume format is supported by the auto-import or import actions.

Also, please tell me you are not so noob that you didn't think to back this up somewhere before you started playing with FreeNAS. :(

I mean, a 1TB external drive is like $50 on Newegg. Surely a $50 investment in case something like this happened would have been worthwhile.
