I messed up

I installed FreeNAS 8 into VMware and told it to use an entire 500GB disk that I already had data on that I wanted. I tried to mount the drive into though the web gui and after selecting yes the message popped up saying all info will be deleted. Anyone know of tools to use to try and recover the data? I figured the data isn't really gone.

I tried mounting into Ubuntu but it doesn't read the disk. I am fairly certain it was an ext2 file system before.

Any recommendations would be great.

well some's gone and that will suck.

but for data recovery, i like GetDataBack. http://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-software.htm

it's kinda pricey though. but part of my income is from data recovery.

Thanks for the suggestion, but your software is only good for FAT and NTFS. I need something that i compatible with ext2.
