Hi guys, I read everything on this forum about running Hyper-V VMs on a SMB share hosted on TrueNAS. Lots of discussions generally on older versions of SMB and True/FreeNAS, no solutions.
Is there someone who was successful in that task on a recent TrueNAS/SMB combo?
I'm stuck at the point where Hyper-V creates the VHDX file and VM config (so no permission problems here), but starting the VM results in

Hyper-V Manager
An error occurred while attempting to start the selected virtual machine(s).
'VM-TEST' failed to change state.
The operation is not supported.

Tried everything I read to no avail. Trying to set max protocol to anything just breaks the ability to open the shares from the Windows 2016 host.
Now back to basic config.

Thanks
