Huge /tmp folder in plex jail

Plex would no longer update, turns out the /tmp folder contains probably about 15 million files/folders. I can't list, remove or do anything with this folder now. I've moved it to /tmpold.

Any advice on what to do - how do I get rid of this folder? rm -rf tmpold/ hangs, I can't list the folder or even see what is contained in it with find.

I'm not saying there isn't a way to delete it, but itll take a long time (script utilizing ionice??). I suspect its going to be much quicker to backup the plex DBs, meta and configs outside of the jail. Destroy the jail and recreate it, and transfer the backup back in. Then I suppose you might need a cron script to check on it monthly and clear it out so its not happening again as im not sure why it happened.

I had the same issue. What stopped the temp folder from growing was to reinstall PLEX. Have not had an issue since.
