Hi,

Does anyone have experience with combining an HPE DL380 Gen10 LFF Server with a Broadcom (LSI) 9400-16i HBA (05-50008-00) for running TrueNas?
The HBA is supported by TrueNas and could be connected to the Backplane with a SFF8643-MiniSas cable.
For connecting all bays I will need 3x (05-26119-00) Broadcom CBL-SFF8643-8087-10M cables, I guess.
The idea is to load it with 10x 12TB HPE Helium disks (JBOD), and 2x SSD disks (Raid1) for the TrueNas OS.

Will the HBA work together with the backplane and all disks will be visible, and everybody is happy ever after? Or will i(t) hang?

Kind regards.

Have you tested it? Early drivers were unstable and I don't know if they've improved enough.

Nope. I'm designing several options to run TrueNas. I'm also looking at the DL180 Gen10 model. I hoped that someone already tried running TrueNas on a HPE DL380 Gen10 Server.
I found that the HPE CloudLine servers had the fabric option to use a 9400 HBA. But those Servers als EOL.
