Hello everyone,

I just recently got done setting up my rack mounted Truenas Scale system for my small office.

Previously, our office scanner, went to a network drive on a spare windows machine (SSS-Server), for the entire office to have access to the scans. I'd like to do the same thing on the new Truenas box, but i'm running into an issue, I think, with the credentials. No matter what I put for windows domain/user name/password, I get the attached error.

Clearly i'm not trying to connect to a windows device, so I'm not sure what to do here. I've tried root/root/*******, my windows credentials, the credentials to the old server, as well as many others while grasping at straws.

From all of the windows computers in the office, we are able to access the folder, just not from the scanner.

Please be gentle, I'm sure there is something fairly obvious that i'm missing.

Have you tried replacing "SSS-SERVER" with your server's IP?
Yes, I have tried editing the existing shared "Contact" (as HP calls it), that is working now on the windows computer, so that it points to the truenas box, to no avail.

Some printers scanners use very early versions of SMB2... need to enable SMB1 to support them.

In the Windows Domain, did you try putting the server name or IP address there? Or, leave that blank and put it in front of the user name like: 192.168.0.10\userName

I swear I had done that already, but, to my surprise, in Scale, once you enable SMB, there is another level. You have to configure your SMB, to enable SMB1. Once that was complete, setup fell to HP.

For the UNC folder path: \\192.168.1.151\Office Backup\Network Share\Scans

Windows domain: All
Username: All
Password: whatever you have set on truenas.

Done and Done.

Thank you everyone.
