Hi folks

After some tinkering with my own FreeNAS box at home we are looking at setting up a server in the office.

The HP ProLiant DL380e Gen8 E5-2420 is the machine we are looking at at the moment. Does anyone happen to know if it is compatible with FreeNAS ?

Thanks in advance

You'll want to replace the HP raid controller with a HBA, something like the LSI 9207/9211. Also, HP tends to use Broadcom NICs in their servers and they can be hit or miss with freenas/freebsd. I would recommend replacing any Broadcom NIC with an Intel 1gbe or chelsio 10gbe NIC, depending on your network infrastructure.
