Hey All,

AFAIK, the last time someone on these forums got cdrtools working on their freenas was back in the 8.2 days: https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/burn-dvd.5457/

The ftp site for FreeBSD 9.3 + appears to have changed, but the directions given back in 2012 haven't been updated. (yes I know it isn't official documentation)

And of course, pkgng doesn't work outside of a jail:
Code:
[root@freenas0] /mnt/myPool/ISOs/freedos# pkg install cdrtools
Updating local repository catalogue...
pkg: file:///usr/ports/packages/meta.txz: No such file or directory
pkg: repository local has no meta file, using default settings
pkg: file:///usr/ports/packages/digests.txz: No such file or directory
pkg: Unable to update repository local
All repositories are up-to-date.
pkg: No packages available to install matching 'cdrtools' have been found in the repositories

Any help in getting cdrtools to work would be appreciated! :)

That's to be expected as FreeNAS is meant to be a storage appliance. In other words, it doesn't want you to install software outside of a jail or use it to burn CDs/DVDs...
