How to unrar from windows machine

Hey guys
New to this forum. Have been using freehas for a while now but have a problem unraring files from my windows GUI. Don't know if this can be done or not? I now use the plex media server plugin and some of the files that I want to play are rar files. So I have to transfer them to my windows machine and unrar the file then transfer it back to the freenas box to play on the plex server. I have a Samsung tv that has the plex app and stream the file from the nas box. Is there any way I can urar these file on the nas instead of having to transfer them to the windows machine.

Yes. Read up on the archiver called "unrar". You should be able to install it in a jail by doing # pkg install unrar.

Another one I've not used but heard of is xarchiver.

Have you tried tar?

libarchive claims to support rar, and if so, it is quite possible that tar can extract a rar archive.
