Greetings. I'm running FreeNAS-8.0-RELEASE-i386. I have HTTPS turned on and working fine using the automatically-generated SSL certificate. I would now like to change the certificate to one of my own. I know how to generate the necessary private key and certificate from my CA.

In the GUI, there's a tab for SSL under System->Settings that includes a text box containing the private key and certificate. When I try to paste in my own pair and hit OK (like I did in FreeNAS 7), they are replaced with the automatically-generated pair. I believe this is happening by way of the ix-ssl script.

It must be possible to replace the auto-generated certificate, right? What am I missing?

Thank you,
Paul

What happens if you delete the existing keys/certificate, click OK, then paste your new one, and click OK?
