How to measure file transfer speeds between volumes

I am looking for a command to show me the file transfer speed when I cp a file between drives.

Also my mother board only has a max of 2gb ram is zfs a bad idea for me??

I'm on my cell right now but you can find the man page for cp through google. it will tell you the flag to use. It
should be /v for verbose or something like that.

Yes, zfs is a bad idea with only 2Gb.

As matthewowen01 said, you need minimum 4GB of RAM for ZFS. In what OS you want to run the performance test?
