How to install git

I have a FreeNAS 9.3.x that is up to date as of today.

When I try:

pkg install git

I get this error:

root@sabnzbd_1:/ #pkg: No packages available to install matching 'git' have been found in the repositoriesAll repositories are up-to-date.FreeBSD repository is up-to-date.Updating FreeBSD repository catalogue...

How can I fix this or install git. Sorry but FreeBSD noob here.

Inside of my sabnzbd jail. Trying to get Joshua media stuff working. Worked the other day. Now getting that error trying setup friends server.

That's the correct command. Can you double-check that you can ping a domain name (such as google.com) from within the jail?

I can ping anywhere and works fine.

I'm assuming the package is broken on the official repo at the moment. you could always try building from ports

cd /usr/ports/devel/git
make install clean

When I try got on the directory get No such file or directory

you probably need to install the ports tree
portsnap fetch install

Yup, you have to install it first. See http://doc.freenas.org/9.3/freenas_jails.html#compiling-freebsd-ports for instructions.

Sounds like your repository's are not up to date.

To update pkg:
# pkg update

To update ports:
# portsnap fetch extract

Did the portsnap fetch extract the cd usr/ports/devel/git and make clean install. Now what?
