The answer to:
Is it possible to install whatever direct onto FreeNAS (not in a jail)?
Is always no.

Thank for you answer to me. I'm very new in FreeNAS, and after RTFM I have understood about that. Because FreeNAS update I can't install anything onto system, but jail.

So, can you help me with a jail setup? I have two nic card, when I setup ip via DHCP in my jail, I can't get ip address from my DHCP. The first nic is into a private NAS network (without a DHCP), the second in a my public network. Can I switch jail bridge with my second nic via gui or console?

And the second question: How can I setup zabbix agent for monitor my FreeNAS?

Best regards!

Victor.

Do either of these question have anything to do with installing bareos? Because it doesn't sound like they do. If not, they'd probably be better placed in their own threads.

Questions are about to install bareos-fd. Yes, zabbix no, sorry. But it is related things. I have setup NAS (NFS+CIFS) - it works fine. And now I want to keep my data in other safe place with bareos. It is very sadly about big problem install static bareos-fd. And bad about jail bug with dhcp...

Freenas 9.10 & CIFS shares
Make a jail - update jail's packages - install bareos-client - mount shares into the jail - "/usr/local/sbin/bareos-fd -c /etc/bareos/bareos-fd.conf" into the rc.local
Works like a charm
