how to install apps

Hi i have set up scale with my pool and dataset and have now got to the point that i would like to add two apps (plex & home assistant), is it okay to just install these from the apps page and just install them in the pool or would you recommend a new dataset just for these ?

thanks in core i was advised to not use the plug ins and jails for these and to use virtual, so is it okay to just use the apps in scale ?

If you were told to not use a jail (and instead use a VM) for Plex, you were given bad advice, as there's just no reason to mess with that extra complication. But that's not what you were asking; you were asking whether you needed to create a separate dataset for the apps, and the answer is no, as it's created for you. Whether it's "okay" to just use the apps depends on what you mean by "okay." I don't know of any reason not to use the Plex app; it's just Plex in a Docker container. But with respect to Home Assistant, I can't really say.
