Have been using FreeNAS for some time with an old version.
Now I installed the latest TrueNAS.
Have installed an SMB share and an NFS share.
I have created a user x, group x UID=1000 and I have a directory where all the files are owned by x.

I map a drive from my Win7 PC and this was working well until I tried to access the stuff from the Thunderbird browser.
In a subdirectory deep down. It did not work.
I have not setup any ACLs before.

I want it simple.
If the file belongs to user x, I want full access rights.
Read/Write/Delete/Move.

Tried to setup an ACL which I did not like.
ACLs seems to be such overkills for my needs.
Also: this made the problem much much worse.
Instead of getting access, I was suddenly blocked.

How do I set up TrueNAS so that if I own the file, I can do what I want?
