how to check who is accessing shared folders

Hi,

Is there a way to check to see who are actually connected to a share folder and what files they are accessing?

I asked because i had to reboot my NAS and my brother was on it accessing and saving his files. and he got kicked off and I didnt know he was on. Cause it seems like the system info page only shows who is logged on from ssh or multiple gui access logins.

What service were you using? You're probably better off asking the forums for that particular service, but if I know what service I might try to look this up for my own curiosity...
