Dear All,

We are looking to configure file extension based restriction for SMB shares, but i am unable to get appropriate reference from google.

I.e if we restrict .mp4 for particular share, users can't store mp4 format files.

kindly help me regarding this, whether this kind of configuration is possible or not. If possible, kindly let me know process/ref URL.

Thank you so much for advance.

Regardless of whether this is possible, it's trivial to bypass and worth nothing.

Hello All,

I got the solution for this,,,, to achieve this we have to follow below steps...
1. Stop SMB services [If enable] - Mandatory
2. Write "Veto files = /*.extention" in share Auxiliary Parameters... Here share means [Sharing-> Windows [SMB]->Shares]
[Ex: If we wants restrict users like they should not store iso and mp4 files in perticular CIFS/SMB share.
we have to write "Veto files = /*.iso/*.mp4" this command in share Auxiliary Parameters]
3. Start SMB service

Thank you so much all..
