How to add security to this How-To?

I am following this How-To and it looks like it will make Sabnzbd, SickBeard, CouchPotato, and Plex work. My issue is that he is giving the guest account full privileges. How do I modify the guide to allow my family members to use the drive as a storage while still have the plugins access the media dataset? I would greatly appreciate ANY help as I have done factory resets more times than I can count. I am not very good with Unix OS's so keeping it basic would be preferable. :)
