Hello,
I apologize in advance if this question was already answered and I didn't see it.

I would like to connect my freenas server to the router wiressly. My card is not supported. I installed freebsd and created .ko file from win drivers using ndisgen. I was able to configure it in freebsd (copying .ko to /boot/modules, adding to ifconfig commands, etc) it worked.

Then I thought I would do the same on freenas. Apparently, I cannot copy files to boot/modules dir. Freenas menu allows me to go to unix prompt and it shows that I am root, but neither chmod nor mkdir dont work :(.

Is there a workaround? I really would like to use freenas instead of full freebsd, and REALLY dont want to put my nas server close to router.

Sincerely.

Not to discredit your attempt to get wireless working, but Wireless is not a very smart idea at all for a server. Wifi has major performance and reliability issues and I'd be scared of losing data over wifi.

Thank you, cyberjock. I guess I will have to heat up my office room even more :)
