How to access Syncthing webGUI from external IP/Internet?

Hi,

I have successfully setup TrueNAS for file syncing (á là Dropbox) with Syncthing.

I can access the webGUI within my home network to which the TrueNAS is connected. But I can't access Syncthing when I'm away from home. I have port-forwarded TrueNAS web access and Syncthing ports in my router. I can access my TrueNAS main page but clicking Manage in the plugin section of Syncthing can't access it from outside.

I believe this might be due to the jail thing, and I tried searching for how I can access it but still can't find out how I can access it when I'm not at home network.

Any clear guidance for this will be much appreciated. I'm a complete noob but have managed to setup Syncthing with the help of others.

Exposing your NAS directly to the internet puts your data at risk of being compromised and/or hit with malware/ransomware.

Suggest setting up VPN access to your home network, which will allow you access your NAS securely.
