How Does ZFS Deal with an URE During Resilvering?

Can anyone confirm how ZFS would deal with an unrecoverable read error (URE) during a resilver? Would it fail completely and not rebuild the array or would it report the issue and continue rebuilding the array which would now contain a checksum error because one sector was unreadable during the resilver?

The last time I experienced that kind of failure (TN12), the system „chose“ to refuse going on scrubbing.
