Has anybody already realized a kind of file search web frontend?

I think that it should be possible to use something like lucene for indexing files that are stored on the NAS. But I have no idea where to start.
Has anybody tried that already? Or do you already have found another way to find your files by their content?

Thank you for the link.

There are tons of client-side indexing tools. But the 1990ies are some days away ;) , and in the local network Windows is the least used OS. So - and i see that i haven't been very specific about that - i am looking for a solution that ist working in the server side, something with a nice web interface, probably sitting on a web server inside a jail. Lucene / Solr for example is an Open Source Project that has grown over years and is able to index almost everything. There are some interfaces, but i did not find anything that fits for a NAS.
Something like this would be amazing, and i hope not only for me.
