How do I parse replication status

I'm doing a replication from one Truenas server to another, both at 12.8.1. I'm trying to understand the status of the replication. It is Running and reports this:

Sending 1 of 17: WDRed/Media@auto-2022-03-20_00-00 (2.83 TiB / 2.83 TiB) [total 2.82 TiB of 3.09 TiB]

I follow that it is replicating the base dataset first, but I don't follow the exactitude of the 5.88%, or the 2.83 of 2.83. I suspect the other 16 are snapshots with not a lot of changes.

If you look on the replication page and click on the status icon ("Running", "Finished", :Error") you get the status, which in the case of "Running" continuously updates.
