How can I benchmark pool performance directly on the FreeNAS box?

I just would like to get a baseline metric to compare performance of the pool when accessed locally to when accessed over the network to. I want to run some tests for read/write speeds, both sequential and random, as well as IOPS if possible.

Just to add to @Bidule0hm posting, there are many examples on how to use "dd" in these forums. Read the forum rules on how to conduct a search and you should be all set.
