Old duffer, new to FreeNAS and FreeBSD, not so unfamiliar to Linux though. Hoping for a smooth transition.
Looking to use FreeNAS and a crap-ton of reasonably priced disk space to round out a fairly robust backup and recovery position. Planning to use FreeNAS as an off-site, second and online backup of the things that take forever to restore from our traditional backup system. Hoping to also use our first (and off-site) appliance for replication storage alongside a couple of VM hosts to provide a little DR capability as well.
Lots to learn and am willing to try to do so long before hitting the forum. I appreciate everyone's time, and will make every effort to exhaust my Google-Fu before turning here.
Looking forward to the learning, this feels like a great project and a great community.
