Hi,

Is it possible to hide dot files present in a CIFS share ?
In my CIFS share , when i consult form my Wondows 7 , i see: .cshrc, .login, ..... a lot of files with a dot on start.
I would like to hide this files for windows computer consulting.

Thanks for your reply.

You can set your FreeNAS SMB shares to hide the .files and various other things. Go to the share, press Advanced Mode, and add the following into the "Auxiliary Parameters" box:

hide dot files = yes

This is hidden in the huge smb.conf manual page, linked from the Freenas doc dlavigne linked to.

You probably need to restart SMB, I can't recall.

Huh. It works here. Perhaps disconnect and reconnect to the share from the Windows box?
