Anyway. I'm new here. I've set up my first FreeNAS system with the goal of creating a PLEX media server. I've done a lot of dabbling in Linux over the years, but never become a full-time user. Some of the tools I need for photo editing only run on Windows, but there's also one big issue that haunts me: permissions.
I've already done some searching on the permissions issues and I've watched the videos from "The Internet Monkey", but still not getting where I want to be. I'm also not sure where in the forum structure to post my question. Everything my search turned up was in the archived section. Some help on this would be appreciated.
Anyway... to introduce myself: I'm 66 years old, live in Flagstaff, Arizona and work in the I.T. department of the local hospital. My passions are my 1973 Porsche 914 and photography (and my lovely wife of 46 years).
