Hello,

Yesterday I made the mistake of installing the firefly daapd plugin and left it running overnight, indexing media. It seems to have put my NAS in an unstable state (possibly a memory leak?).

I cannot log in/do anything via IPMI, all I get is

Code:
swap_pager_getswapspace(16): failed

scrolling over the screen. Pressing CTRL-C or typing 13 and Return (the menu entry for reboot) or blindly typing credentials doesn't help. The SSH login doesn't work either and the Web UI is also not available any longer. Strangely enough I can still mount AFP shares on the NAS. What can I do to reboot cleanly without pulling the plug or doing a hardware reset over IPMI?

Thanks,
Achim

Ok - I was impatient and TIL that sending Software Reset (Ctrl-Alt-Del) via IPMI triggers a clean reboot. Hope it will help other FreeBSD newbies =)

Or you can just press the power button to trigger an ACPI shutdown.
