I am trying to turn an old PC into a NAS but am running into an issue where I can access the UI through the web but when I try to plug a new drive in through the SATA cables they're not showing up. What do I have to do to get this drive to appear in my system?

Help! How do I add drives to my TrueNAS system?

First, please read the forum rules about posting a question.
Second, list all your hardware. We have no idea what you have so we have no way to give you advice.
Third, are you powering off the computer before connecting/disconnecting the drives?

IIRC only drives that are already a member of a pool show up in Storage > Disks. Plus what @joeschmuck wrote. With SATA when a disk is not present at boot time, the corresponding channel will be disabled.
