HI everybody and thanks to read my questions (possibly solving my doubts ...)
I am in the process of installing Freenas on a Usb memory card (which dimension can be optimal ?)
on a server where now is booting (thru an Ide HD) up a Solaris 10 x86 .
Actually there are 4 data disks (1.5tb Samsung) with a RaidZ Zfs pool
I would like to know if it is possible to :
Use the zpool from Solaris 10 (don't remember which version but was not patched for years so is pretty old) in the FreeNas install (oviously) as data disks without loosing data
Have the possibility (just in case) to boot off the old sol10 ide disk reusing the RaidZ pool ...
I mean i would like that the zpool could be bidirectionally read by both the os (Freenas and Solaris10)
If everything will go well will definitely switch to freenas
thanks
