Hello everyone
I recently built a file/media server and chose to use Freenas. I am excited to see what can be done specifically with Jails. I have used linux in the past (Slackware, Debian), never BSD though. I am very new to Raid in any form. I am upgrading from a synology, 2 disk NAS.
Below is my server hardware:
-Cooler Master Cosmos II - Ultra Tower Computer Case with Aluminum and Steel Body (RC-1200-KKN1)
-EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1, 80+ GOLD 650W, Fully Modular, Power Supply 120-G1-0650-XR
-Supermicro ATX DDR4 LGA 2011 Motherboards X10SRI-F-O
-Noctua i4 CPU Cooler for Intel Xeon CPU_ LGA2011, 1356 and 1366 Platforms NH-U9DXi4
-Intel Xeon E5 Quad Core Processor 3.5 4 LGA 2011 BX80644E51620V3
-3 of Samsung DDR4-2133 16GB/2Gx72 ECC/REG CL15 Server Memory (M393A2G40DB0-CPB0)
-Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E250B/AM)
Will use in mirror config for 12 TB of storage (really about 10.6 :))
-6 of HGST HGST Ultrastar 7K4000 4 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM SATA Internal Enterprise Hard Drive 64 MB Buffer 6.0Gb/s - HUS724040ALA640 / 0F14688 64 MB Cache
Will use synology NAS as backup
-2 of WD Red 6TB NAS Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch WD60EFRX
Thanks for having me. Hope everyone is having a great day!
