HI All

I have no system build to list as I am looking at a new build

My question is around HD Drives, All the drives listed as NAS drives, they are much more expensive than enterprise drives. Is there a reason to use NAS Specific drives. The enterprise drives all have 500TB endurance v the NAS drives 300TB, also is NCQ of benifit as some drives have it and sone not, should also be looking for 4K sector drives, and drives that do not power down.

Did not list seagate but they are similar, this is for production use not home use so I need the best ned 12 drives

18TB WD Red Pro NAS £415

18TB WD Gold Enterprise £418

18TB WD Ultrastar Enterprise £298

18GB Toshiba MG09 Enterprise £266

18GB Toshiba N300 NAS £281

Thanks
Alan

Any of those drives will do. Or Exos
4Kn is largely irrelavent and has little practical effect - its also a pain in the ass to setup

I have 12 Toshiba MG09 across 3 arrays and different NAS's - so far they seem to be fine - and they are cheap. They are new technology so you won't find much long term data on them.
