Having trouble booting 9.1.1 release

I just finished building my NAS box w an ASUS P8H77-I. Now to breathe life into this thing. I'm off to a rough start. Stumped already at "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key". I can't get the MOBO pointed at the USB ports to find the flash key. Any thoughts?

You have to set it in the BIOS

Got it. 2 problems. 1. the thumbdrive was not MSDOS formatted. Wiped the drive clean and started with a new image. 2. Found the way to force the BIOS to the USB ports to accept the thumbdrive. Thanks.
