I have been reading the threads for several weeks while I have been planning my first build. Am still reading them while I wait for parts to arrive. It seems to me it would be nice if there was some sort of aggregated list of specific hardware tweaks that are required/desired to make freenas operate best. Here are some threads that I have found (relevant to my hardware). If we could have some reference like this I think it would help people avoid the pitfalls that others have had.

There's one such thread with a few common issues with Supermicro X10 motherboards.

If you feel you're able to put something together, feel free to write it and post it. Such a sticky on the ASRock C2750 will surely be of interest to many people around here, especially since it's used in the FreeNAS Mini. It's the kind of thing only an owner can really write, and the only forum regular I remember who has one is Cyberjock, and the last thing he needs is an incentive not to write his permissions guide.;)

As for the drives, I see what you mean. I'd never noticed it before, but there's no single big HARD DRIVE BASICS - README! sticky anywhere. It does sound like a good idea

Yeah, I wrote it a few weeks ago. It's little short, but I've yet to see a new common question on the X10s.
