Hardware Suggestions Needed

I'd like to build a FreeNAS server but want suggestions and recommendations for the correct hardware. My main concern is storage space so, I plan to have 5 - 3TB 6GB/s drives.
How can I best harness the maximum disk speed?

jfyi you MEANT 6Gbit/sec, not the 6Gbyte/sec you wrote. In this case it was obvious, but in other discussions please be sure you are at least using caps correctly, or be a complete pedant and spell it out for the best in unambiguous technical communication.
