However just now I could restrict the choice between E3-v5/v6 and E5-v2 with x9SRL :)
There may be other X9 options with socket 2011 available used, but without IMPI then.
You can also choose to buy another E5 CPU if you like, they are not to expensive. Maybe higher clockrate. Have a look at Intel ARK for comparison if you like.
The choose between E3-12xxv5/6 should lead to the newer generation (v6). Cost wise there should be no difference.

Bought 64 GiB of DDR3 RDIMM (around 35-40 Euro for each 16 GB), bought LSI SAS 9300-4i SAS3 (117 Euro) now I need motherboard and CPU.
Regarding mobo, my preference is for X9SRL-F which have 36 pci-e 3.0 lanes available and bifurcation, but the best price found is around 320 Euro; another choice is X9SRI-F which has only 24 pci-e 3.0 lanes in only two slots (16+8), one will be used for SAS controller, so the other could be for NVME drives or 10 GbE ... price around 195 Euro, so 125 Euro less, that could be used for better CPU (E5-26xx v2) or for drives.
This period there are not so many offer about motherboards.. maybe everyone is at the beach ;)

What's your opinion/preference about these motherboard ?

Thanks!

Hard to say. You are looking in the right direction. If you know that you need all those PCIe lanes, you will need to go with the more expensive one. If you are fine with the 24, go for it and save some bucks. Think about how long your system should be used and if a higher invest is maybe the better choice in a long term perspective.

I would go for the X9SRL-F just to have all needed options available.

And always go with a higher CPU if possible. I have seen a 10 core, 3Ghz+ at around 300€. I mean 20 threads - the perfect solution for the nerd inside ;P

Got X9SRI-F for 184 Euro shipping included. Then won an auction on Ebay for E5-2680v2, 186 Euro shipping included: so 10core/20 thread @2.8GHz with 25 MB of cache. Waiting them to put components under test.
