Very helpful command list - smartctl -a /dev/ada1 | grep -i temperature

If you want a 2U "turn-key" solution, look into the Dell PowerEdge C100/FS12-TY. I am a super big fan of these systems and use them for everything. I have 3 in a 42U Dell server rack now and 3 more to eventually be added. Server Rack in within 10 feet of me (closet without a door presently) and less noise than my workstation. Will get around to making a posting of why I love them so much. Just want to get a nice Decibel Meter (asking for recommendations in another thread) to prove to everyone how quite these things are. /endfanboyrant

P.S. don't get the model that holds 24 2.5" drives (unless they come with the trays)... The hard drive trays are hard as crap to find and they want at least ~$30.00 each. I made the mistake of buying 2 of these units for a great price, but they came without the trays. Now, I am looking @ ~ $1500.00 just in trays alone.... Sheesh, that $400.00 purchase on ebay seemed like such a great deal too... lol

I'd think you could order them from Dell, or was that Dell's price?

Dell's was even higher (Dell PN: 8V76H), can't recall the actual price (I am even a Dell Partner) and it was something crazy like $75.00 each. Tried a couple other ones that some sites said were compatible (Dell PN: G176J), but no luck.

Just ordered two off of ebay (that "may" be compatible; Dell PN: 7JC8P) and asked the seller to physically verify that it fits.

Desperate enough to consider breaking out the router and/or Dremel and do some modding if needed. o_O

Lol, funny part is that those SuperMicro trays are on my radar. May end up buying a pair to see if they fit or could possibly be modded. Hinge, lights and latch and release look to be similarly located.

Yeah, that is the tray. Already bought one from the seller and even asked them if they would be interested in a lot purchase of 50 @ 15.00/each. They responded telling me that they only had 7 and 17.50 was the lowest price:

Only have 7 at the moment. And 17.50 is the best we can offer.

Hello, I am looking for a bulk purchase of these trays and was wondering if there was a possibility of getting fifty (50) of the items @ $15/each with free shipping?

Not sure if you have the inventory or would consider the price, but figured I would ask.

Thanks.

Yeah, really sorry to hear it, I've been there sometimes in the past, and it sucks.

I woulda tried 50 @ $10. These guys usually like profit but they also really like not having the stuff hanging around getting shipped out one or two at a time.

It's kinda pathetic, of course, that you can get the 3.5" trays so cheap.
