Hard Disk Not Found...

Hi all, im new to Freenas and only installed it today.....

I hit a problem when only my 2x 2GB memory sticks showed up.. It was strange because i have a 160GB IDE hard drive connected with music, movies and pictures on it.

I have tried a brief search on the forums but nothing quite fit.

The hard disk does have windows on it - does that matter?

yes you need it to be formatted under freenas in order for it to work then you can install your software on it but bare in mind you will lose all on that hard drive unless you copie it to a pc that has already windows on it then put the hard drive in freenas and format it

you should be able to import it, but I wouldn't use the volume for anything other than copying the data to a drive that's been formatted with a proper native filesystem.
