Guide for FreeNAS ZFS high available cluster as datastore for ESXI

Hi,

I'm looking for a good guide that can help me with building a datastore for a ESXI cluster with NFS and ISCSI target. It has to have ZFS replication and maybe even GlusterFS or some other HA cluster solution.

It is a low cost project, I'm a intern. It's for a IT service company that has approx. 30 VM's inside the HA ESXI cluster with VCenter installed. I tried Openfiler but found out it's pretty dead. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

FreeNAS can not be a live HA solution.
You should contact iXsystems for a TrueNAS offer.
Then you get real ha where you have really no second downtime.

You can build with fn a replication. But you will not get a solution where you have zero downtime aka a HA cluster.

Thank you. I think i want to try FreeNAS with ZFS Replication first for ESXI Datastore. Do you know a good walkthrough I can use?

When Server FN A fails you could make a Snapshot on FN B writable, change the datastore in ESX (maybe, don't know much about vmware) and fire the VMs back up.
Far away from HA^^
