We are using Freenas 11.1-U6.

Today i noticed that we have an extra disc showing up in the View Discs GUI, which has no size.
It is not used in any pool (zpool status) and also gparted show does not list it.

It's listed as da5 in the list.

Does anyone know what this is?

Edit: I noticed that the smartd_daemon could not start and I was trying to figure out what could be the reason for that. As you can see we have disabled the smart for the boot usb drive, which usually causes that error.

Could be the IPMI. Some allow attaching disc images for booting. And with no attached image, it may show as empty.
This is where hardware specs can be helpful. As in, motherboard model.

Thanks Arwen,

It's a Supermicro X11SPL-F with Intel Xeon Silver 4112.

Well that model does have IPMI, so that could be the source of the empty disk.
I don't know for certain, just seen similar things elsewhere.
Perhaps someone else will know for certain.
