Anyone has tried this board with FreeNAS?
LGA2011 using the C606 chipset and has support for unbuffered DDR3 with ECC.
Would like to use some spare Registered ECC memories, but it is not clear from
the documentation that it is supported.
I thought that Unbuffered ECC and Registered ECC DIMMs are pin compatible
and directly connected to the CPU.
Then supporting unbuffered ECC or registered ECC DIMMs is only depending
on which CPU you use.
I got a Xeon E5-1607 Quad-Core @ 3.0 GHz so registered ECC DIMMs
should be connectable..
Why would the motherboard make this impossible?
Second issue is the onboard disk support.
2 x SATA III
4 x SATA II
8 x SAS which can be used as SATA II - BUT
Will it be detected by FreeNAS?
The discussion on the lack of SCU support for the SuperMicro X9SRA, is
not encouraging
