maybe it wasn't clear what I said, now i set up a quota to my dataset of 2tib and initially the reported sizes where wrong like inside the dataset were 10gb of data and the size of the smb share was 2tib like there wasn't files inside. now i tried to copy a large amount of data (1,4tb) and the displayed size is correct now. i asked that question because searching in the forum i found a thread discussing the same issue and was told that is a bug of freenas but now the situation seems to be normal.
regarding the scu port of my primergy server, i can't find any document about the maximum hard disk size support and if the port is sata2 or 3. this is important because if the scu supports sata2 i can experience a bottleneck with raid10 of 4x3tb new drives and if it's the case i have to buy a new hba like the h310 that i found around 70 euros then crossflash it. is it a good idea?
