Good day all,

I understand that there are topics about the motherboards and ECC RAM support for 6th Gen CPU's. But unfortunately there are no information at all about Fujitsu 3401-B11 GS3 motherboard and it's chipset, only some boards, but they are either A versions or B21 versions of it :(

I have currently installed 32GB of non ECC RAM on it and using for Truenas Scale. While using this board with Intel i3-6100 CPU that I have bought for 40 Euros both I started to search for something with ECC support, but after readin about C23X chipsets and ECC support I wanted to google on how to check the motherboard chipset when you have it...

in Truenas command line I have found this:
root@truenas[/home/admin]# lspci
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v5/E3-1500 v5/6th Gen Core Processor Host Bridge/DRAM Registers (rev 07)
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 530 (rev 06)
00:14.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family USB 3.0 xHCI Controller (rev 31)
00:14.2 Signal processing controller: Intel Corporation 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family Thermal Subsystem (rev 31)
00:16.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family MEI Controller #1 (rev 31)
00:16.3 Serial controller: Intel Corporation 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family KT Redirection (rev 31)
00:17.0 SATA controller: Intel Corporation Q170/Q150/B150/H170/H110/Z170/CM236 Chipset SATA Controller [AHCI Mode] (rev 31)
00:1d.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port #9 (rev f1)
00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation Q150 Chipset LPC/eSPI Controller (rev 31)
00:1f.2 Memory controller: Intel Corporation 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family Power Management Controller (rev 31)
00:1f.4 SMBus: Intel Corporation 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family SMBus (rev 31)
00:1f.6 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection (2) I219-V (rev 31)
01:00.0 Non-Volatile memory controller: Kingston Technology Company, Inc. Device 500e (rev 01)

Does it mean that I can buy UDIMM ECC memory and it will work? What do you guys think?

Best regards,

Alex

The more I go deeper into this the more I understand that it can be Q150 chipset, or C23X chipset.

Demicode information I have got only:
Base Board Information
Manufacturer: FUJITSU
Product Name: D3401-B1
Version: S26361-D3401-B1

That said I can't find on any Fujitsu site the information about the board.

I hate intel so much for not having a proper support for consumer grade ECC memory :(
