Hey guys and girls,

I have a FreeNAS running without any connection to the internet. 9.3 was running smooth without any problems, regarding the missing internet connection. After the update to 9.10 (201603252134) I get daily emails with the following content:

Code:
Checking for packages with security vulnerabilities:
pkg: http://vuxml.freebsd.org/freebsd/vuln.xml.bz2: No address record
pkg: cannot fetch vulnxml file

-- End of security output --

I know, that this is not affecting the stability of the system, but it's kind of annoying to get this daily mail. I disabled the automatic check for updates, but the message is still there...

Is there a setting in the GUI to disable this check?

Correct. And, that particular check is actually a good thing so it is best to just ignore the warning when the system isn't connected to the Internet.

of course.. the message itself proudly shouts out, that it's a good thing... But without internet it's useless ;)
gonna point to an empty "vuln.xml.bz2" on my own server. So this message won't come up anymore. (The more often you get security warnings email, the less you read it...)
