Hi,

Just curious, is it posible with scripting (or maybe plugins) via LAN to request some reports, notifications or alerts, from Freenas?
Basically just to create a windows app (in Tray), that just shows the status of RAIDs, Temperatures and any other useful data?

I know some commands that works in FreeNAS shell to check the temperatures - so is it possible to request them through network?

There's SNMP, but I don't know how completely it's implemented. There is most likely a Windows app aleady for using SNMP. Check out the FreeNAS docs and lookup SNMP on wikipedia for more info.

Thanks.
Will have a look.

The idea I had, is to use plugin's to create a separate webpage (on separate IP address) that contain's all this data.
Then 2 options:

1) View the webpage to monitor everything.
2) Windows app that grabs the data from this page and displays alerts in tray.

However I'm new to FreeNas, so just starting to read about plug-ins.

Question: Plugins-Jail - can it be as a webpage (HTML) that is installed in certain folder on one of volumes?
So accessing this IP you open this page.

I might be totally wrong, just quickly seen the docs.
